Nassau is the capital and largest city of the Bahamas, located on New Providence Island. The cruise port is at Prince George Wharf, right in the center of downtown Nassau, placing many of the city's main attractions within walking distance. The city is mainly a port of call for cruises visiting the Bahamas and Caribbean, with ships arriving alongside a mix of historic buildings, colonial architecture and modern waterfront areas.

Nassau has a colourful history shaped by British rule, trade and piracy. The settlement was founded in 1670 by British settlers and was originally known as Charles Town, named in honour of King Charles II of England. During the early 18th century, the Bahamas became closely associated with pirates, with figures such as Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, linked to the region. Today, Nassau's pirate past remains part of the city's identity, with museums, historic streets and landmarks sharing stories from this period.

The beaches and clear waters are among Nassau's biggest attractions. Junkanoo Beach is a popular choice close to the cruise port, offering soft sand, swimming and views across the harbour. Nearby Paradise Island is home to Atlantis Resort, known for its large waterpark, marine habitats and aquarium displays. Beyond the shoreline, the surrounding waters provide opportunities for snorkelling and diving, with coral reefs and tropical marine life attracting visitors throughout the year.

Nassau also offers plenty of opportunities to discover Bahamian culture. Local food reflects a blend of Caribbean, African, British and Spanish influences, with seafood at the heart of many dishes. Conch, a local shellfish, appears in favourites such as fritters, chowders and fresh salads, while rock lobster is another popular choice. The Nassau Straw Market is a well known stop for handmade bags, jewelry and traditional crafts, while Bay Street offers shops selling fashion, souvenirs and duty free goods.
