Regal Princess is a Royal class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises and the second ship to carry the name for the cruise line. Built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy, the ship entered service in 2014 and welcomes up to 3,560 guests, making her one of the large ships in the Princess fleet and shares the Royal class design with her sister ship, Royal Princess, and reflects Princess Cruises' focus on relaxed elegance, attentive service and varied dining.
Her christening was a memorable occasion for fans of cruising, with the original cast of The Love Boat serving as her official godparents. Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell, Lauren Tewes and Jill Whelan took part in the ceremony, celebrating the television series that helped introduce generations of travelers to the appeal of cruising.
At the heart of the ship is the Piazza, an airy central atrium inspired by the public squares of Europe. Throughout the day it hosts musicians, entertainers and activities, while cafe's, boutiques and seating areas make it a popular gathering place. Another well known feature is the SeaWalk, a glass floored walkway extending beyond the ship's side, offering wide views over the sea below and 1,400 private balconies that give many guests their own outdoor space to enjoy the scenery.
Dining is one of Regal Princess's highlights, with three main dining rooms including Sabatini's Italian Restaurant, Crown Grill, Chef's Table Lumiere, Wine Cellar dining and Alfredo's Pizzeria. The International Café provides light meals and coffees throughout the day, while Vines offers a varied wine selection.
Evenings bring productions in the Princess Theater, live performances in the Vista Lounge and interactive shows at Princess Live. The Princess WaterColor Fantasy combines fountains, music and lighting into one of the ship's signature attractions. Guests can also relax in four swimming pools, eight hot tubs or the adults only Sanctuary. Accommodation ranges from comfortable inside cabins to balcony staterooms and spacious suites, while dedicated youth clubs cater for children and teenagers. A polished large ship with excellent dining, entertainment and welcoming public spaces.
