Crown Princess is a Crown class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises. She entered service with her maiden voyage on 14 June 2006 and carries around 3,080 guests, placing her in the large ship category. She is a sister ship to Emerald Princess and Ruby Princess and was christened in New York by her godmother, Martha Stewart.
One of the ship's defining features is the large number of balcony staterooms, giving many guests their own outdoor space. At the centre of the ship, the three deck Piazza provides a lively gathering place for passengers throughout the day. Like her Crown class sisters, Crown Princess has Skywalkers Nightclub positioned aft of the funnel rather than extending over the stern, giving the upper decks a distinctive profile.
Dining offers a range of settings and styles. Three main dining rooms provide traditional restaurant service with different seating arrangements, while Sabatini's serves Italian dishes and Crown Grill focuses on steaks and seafood. More casual choices include a gastropub, poolside pizzeria, buffet restaurant and coffee venues, making it easy to find something for a quick meal or a longer dinner.
Entertainment includes Broadway style production shows, live music, a casino and Movies Under the Stars, where films are shown outdoors by the pool. The Sanctuary provides an adults only setting with shaded loungers, massage cabanas and spa services. Other facilities include swimming pools, a fitness centre, youth and children's clubs and a library, giving guests plenty of options when they want either activity or quieter surroundings.
Accommodation ranges from inside cabins and oceanview rooms to balcony staterooms and suites. The strong presence of balcony cabins means many passengers can enjoy a private outdoor space without needing to book a suite.
Crown Princess suits families, couples and travellers who enjoy the familiar style of a large Princess Cruises ship, with a mixture of traditional dining, entertainment and quieter areas. Her combination of social spaces and peaceful retreats gives guests plenty of choice in how they spend their time on board.
