Discovery Princess

Discovery Princess is a Royal class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises. She entered service in January 2022 and carries around 3,600 guests, placing her in the large ship category. Built at Fincantieri in Italy, she completed the Royal class as the final ship in the series. She was christened at the Port of Los Angeles on 29 April 2022 by four godparents: designer Randy Fenoli, chef Alex Guarnaschelli, special effects designer Adam Savage and real estate agent Page Turner.

The ship has a spacious feel, with open areas and plenty of natural light throughout the public spaces. The multi level Atrium forms a central gathering point for entertainment and casual dining, while the glass enclosed SeaWalk extends over the side of the ship and provides views towards the water. The ship also has a luxury spa and a broad selection of bars and lounges.

Dining ranges from traditional restaurant service to casual meals. The three main dining rooms are Allegro, Concerto and Symphony, while Horizon Court and Horizon Bistro offer buffet dining. Other choices include Trident Grill, Prego Pizzeria and Alfredo's. Take 5 provides a dedicated jazz setting, with live performances and cocktails, while the two level Princess Theater hosts productions, music, comedy and guest performers.

Accommodation includes 1,438 balcony staterooms, with every outside cabin offering a private balcony. The two room Sky Suites provide a larger option, with generous terraces, views from the upper decks and accommodation for up to five guests. The wide selection of balcony cabins makes it easy for many passengers to enjoy some private outdoor space without booking a suite.

Outdoor areas include the Wakeview Pool, two deep water pools, the adults only Retreat Pool and several Jacuzzis. The Sanctuary has also been redesigned with additional cabanas, creating a quieter place to spend time away from the main pool areas. Movies Under the Stars provides outdoor entertainment on a large LED screen.
