Diamond Princess is a cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises and carries around 2,670 guests. She began operation in March 2004 and is a subclassed Grand-class ship. She was built in Nagasaki, Japan by Mitsubishi Industries, making her the first Princess Cruises ship to be built in a Japanese shipyard.

The ship has an interesting history tied to her sister, Sapphire Princess. Diamond Princess was originally intended to be christened Sapphire Princess, but when fire swept through the sister ship's decks during construction, she was renamed Diamond Princess and the other ship's name was swapped to keep delivery on time. Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess are the widest subclass of Grand-class ships, with a beam of 37.5 metres.

Aboard, the ship offers several distinctive dining and bar experiences. She has five main dining rooms, Sabatini's Italian restaurant, Kai Sushi, Sterling Steakhouse, and Horizon Court buffet, along with Prego Pizzeria and a patisserie. The ship features the Izumi Japanese Bath, an expansive bath house experience at sea modeled after traditional open-air bath places. Entertainment venues include the Princess Theater, Club Fusion, Skywalkers Nightclub, and Churchill's Cigar Lounge, giving guests a wide range of options for evening shows, live music performances, and late-night social gatherings across multiple decks.

For relaxation and well-being, guests can visit The Sanctuary, enjoy Movies Under the Stars poolside, or use the Lotus Spa and Fitness Center. Families will find dedicated kids' and teens' centers, while the ship also offers a casino, wedding chapel, nine-hole putting course, and an art gallery. Accommodations span multiple stateroom categories, and the ship boasts over 700 balconies, giving many cabins fine views of the ocean waters ahead throughout their cruise journeys.

Diamond Princess suits couples, families, and those seeking a mid-sized ship with strong connections to Asia and the Pacific, where she spends most of her year sailing diverse coastal and international itineraries.
