Flag state
Caribbean Princess is a mid sized Princess Cruises ship that entered service in 2004, with accommodation for around 3,100 guests at lower berth capacity. She was designed around the familiar Grand class style, with a broad choice of public spaces and plenty of room for finding a quiet corner between meals and activities. The ship was refurbished in 2019, bringing updates to several areas, including its family splash zone.
Dining is a big part of life on board. There are several main dining rooms, along with casual places for pizza, burgers, seafood, coffee and ice cream. For a more leisurely meal, Crown Grill focuses on steak and seafood, while Sabatini's Italian Trattoria offers Italian dishes in a more traditional restaurant setting. Vines provides a place for wine and seafood, and the International Café is handy for coffee, snacks and something sweet during the day.
There is plenty to do when you are ready to leave the dining table. The Sanctuary provides an adults only retreat, while Movies Under the Stars brings films to the poolside screen. Evening entertainment includes productions in the Princess Theater, with other options ranging from lounges and live music to the Skywalkers nightclub. The ship also has a casino, spa and fitness centre, sports areas, a putting course and dedicated spaces for children and teenagers.
Families have the Reef Family Splash Zone, while the five pools and seven hot tubs give swimmers and sun seekers several places to settle in. Balcony staterooms are well represented, with mini suites and suites also available, so there are choices for different budgets and styles of cruising.
Caribbean Princess was among the earlier Princess ships to receive the line's MedallionClass technology, adding digital services to the traditional cruise experience. For holidaymakers, though, the appeal is simpler: there is enough variety to keep different generations happy, while the layout and mix of dining, entertainment and outdoor spaces make it easy to settle into a few days at sea.
