Carnival Glory is a Conquest class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Built by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, she entered service in 2003 and carries roughly 3,000 guests, placing her in the mid sized category. She is the second of five Conquest class ships and was christened in Port Canaveral by Sally Ride, the physicist and astronaut who became the first American woman in space.
Glory has the bright, energetic character associated with Carnival, with colourful public spaces and plenty happening around the ship. A major addition came during a 2017 refurbishment, when the WaterWorks aqua park was added. It includes splash pools, fountains and waterslides, including the Green Thunder and the twisting Twister slide. The outdoor areas give families plenty of ways to spend time together between meals and other activities.
Food is a big part of the Carnival experience, and Glory offers a mixture of main dining, casual favourites and speciality choices. The Golden and Platinum dining rooms provide the main restaurant experience, while the Emerald Room Steakhouse focuses on steaks and seafood. BlueIguana Cantina serves Mexican food, and Guy's Burger Joint offers burgers created with chef Guy Fieri. There is also a broad selection of bars and lounges, including the Ivory Club, Bar Blue and the piano bar.
Evenings bring plenty of entertainment. The Amber Palace is the ship's main theatre, with an ornate interior inspired by the historic Amber Room. Playlist Productions stages music and dance shows, while the Punchliner Comedy Club provides stand up performances. Families can also take part in Seuss at Sea, based around the books and characters of Dr. Seuss. The casino and several bars provide further options after the main shows finish.
Accommodation ranges from inside and ocean view rooms to balcony staterooms and suites, giving guests several ways to choose their preferred setting and budget. The ship also has accessible staterooms for guests who need them.
