Carnival Elation

Carnival Elation is a Fantasy-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. She entered service in March 1998, carrying around 2,190 guests. She is classified as a mid-sized ship.

Built at the Kværner Masa-Yards Helsinki New Shipyard in Finland, she was christened by Shari Arison Dorsman. Elation holds a milestone place in maritime history as the world's first cruise ship built with Azipod propulsion, a breakthrough design that improved maneuverability while freeing up valuable interior hull space. She was also the first vessel in the industry to feature a dedicated onboard conference center designed for small to medium corporate gatherings.

Substantial upgrades have kept the ship modern and vibrant through the years. A major dry dock in October 2017 added an entirely new deck and refreshed several key public spaces. A subsequent refit in March 2020 introduced additional amenities standard across the Carnival fleet, including thirty new staterooms installed in place of the former promenade deck aft lounge.

Dining onboard is approachable and budget-friendly. Rather than heavy specialty charges, meals focus on traditional favorites across two main dining rooms and the sprawling Tiffany's Lido Buffet. Guests can also enjoy round-the-clock pizza, convenient room service, and complimentary late-night snacks, alongside Carnival's classic midnight buffet tradition.

Evening entertainment centers around the Japanese-inspired Mikado Theater, hosting full-scale production shows, musical performances, and stand-up comedy acts. Social hot spots range from the cozy Gatsby's Great Bar to the lively Duke's Piano Bar. Outside on the top decks, guests can make a splash in the main pool, relax in two warm whirlpools, grab drinks at two poolside bars, or take a ride down the three-deck Twister waterslide.

Recreation options extend well beyond the pools. Active guests can utilize the outdoor jogging track, basketball court, table tennis, nine-hole mini golf, bocce court, and shuffleboard setup. Dedicated youth centers keep kids entertained, while the onboard spa provides a quiet sanctuary for adults. Staterooms total 1,094 across twenty-five categories, featuring comfortable suite, balcony, oceanview, and interior options.
