Norwegian Breakaway is a cruise ship of Norwegian Cruise Line. Which launched in 2013 and and carries around 3,963 guests, making her a mid sized ship. As the first of the two Project Breakaway ships, it was designed around the idea of giving guests more freedom to choose how they spend their holiday, with a wide variety of places to eat, relax, and enjoy time outdoors.

What sets her apart is The Waterfront, a quarter-mile oceanfront promenade lined with restaurants, bars and spectacular views. This outdoor walkway defines the onboard experience, offering guests a place to dine by the sea and spend time under open sky. The ship was designed with casual, flexible cruising in mind, with multiple dining venues scattered throughout rather than one formal main restaurant.

Dining is spread across a wide selection of venues rather than centred around a single formal restaurant, giving guests plenty of choice throughout the day. The ship also features a restaurant created by chef Geoffrey Zakarian, alongside casual dining options, cafés, bars, and lounges that suit a range of tastes and occasions.

There is no shortage of activities for guests who like to stay busy. The Aqua Park includes the Free Fall waterslides, while the Sports Complex features a ropes course and The Plank, which extends eight feet beyond the side of the ship for those looking to test their head for heights. Entertainment includes Broadway style productions in the main theatre as well as comedy performances by Second City. Guests looking for a slower pace can unwind in the adults only Thermal Suite at Mandara Spa, where heated loungers, a Salt Room, and an Aromatic Steam Room provide a peaceful retreat.

Norwegian Breakaway features a wide choice of accommodation, from comfortable inside cabins to spacious suites with private verandas. The colorful hull artwork was created by artist Peter Max, giving the ship a distinctive appearance. She is a good choice for families, groups of friends, and travelers who enjoy a lively atmosphere, plenty of outdoor space, and the flexibility to shape each day around their own interests.
