Sun Princess

Sun Princess is a large cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises. She entered service in 2024 and carries around 4,300 guests, making her one of the largest ships in the Princess fleet. Built at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, she is the first Sphere class ship and introduces a noticeably modern design, with large areas of glass giving the exterior a distinctive appearance.

The Dome is one of the ship's most recognisable features. This glass enclosed structure sits high on the ship and takes its inspiration from the terraces of Santorini. Further in, the Sphere forms the centre of the ship, with a suspended three deck atrium offering open ocean views from several levels. Bars, cafés and restaurants surround this central area, making it a natural place to meet, have a drink or stop for something to eat during the day.

Food and drink are a major part of life aboard Sun Princess. The ship has around 29 bars and dining spaces, ranging from casual options and poolside food to speciality restaurants and more formal dining. The three storey main dining room is joined by venues around the Piazza, including coffee shops, cocktail bars and pizza restaurants, giving guests plenty of choice without having to stick to one style of dining.

Evenings bring a varied entertainment programme, with theatres hosting West End style shows and other venues offering live music. Spellbound takes a different approach, combining a Victorian themed setting with magic performances created in partnership with The Magic Castle. Outside, several pools, including infinity pools, terraces and open deck areas provide places to relax with views across the sea. The two storey Lotus Spa offers another quieter retreat.

Accommodation ranges from inside staterooms to suites, with around 70 percent of rooms featuring balconies. Sun Princess was designed with more balconies and outdoor space than any previous Princess ship. She is also the line's first vessel powered by liquefied natural gas.

Christened in 2024 by actress Hannah Waddingham, Sun Princess suits families, couples and first time cruisers looking for a large ship with plenty of dining, entertainment and outdoor space.
