Star Legend is a small luxury ship operated by Windstar Cruises, built by Schichau-Seebeckwerft in Bremerhaven, Germany. She entered service in February 1992 and joined the Windstar fleet in May 2015, having previously sailed under the names Royal Viking Queen and Seabourn Legend. Carrying around 312 guests, she is the largest vessel in the Windstar fleet and the identical sister ship of Star Pride and Star Breeze.

As part of Windstar's Star Plus Initiative, Star Legend underwent a major transformation that lengthened the ship and added 50 new cabins, bringing the total to 156, all outside suites. The work was completed in May 2021. The ship also has a moment of pop culture fame, having appeared in the 1997 film Speed 2: Cruise Control. In June 2018, she became the largest cruise ship ever to pass through Seattle's Ballard Locks and the Lake Washington Ship Canal, a feat made possible by her shallow draft and the kind of intimate size cruisers on this ship tend to value.

All 156 staterooms are outside suites, ranging from porthole suites to grand owner suites. One of Star Legend's real strengths for a ship her size is the variety of dining, with several inclusive venues including AmphorA Restaurant, Yacht Club, and Sky Bar and Grill, plus the more relaxed Veranda Cafe for casual dining. Onboard, guests will find three lounges and bars, a swimming pool, three jacuzzis, and a retractable marina for watersports, along with a spa and fitness facilities.

Evenings lean smart but easygoing: two formal nights on week-long cruises and three on two-week voyages, with casually elegant or casual dress the rest of the time. Onboard activities stay relatively low-key, built around market tours, enrichment programs, and performances by local musicians. With a shallow draft of just 14 feet (4.3 m), Star Legend can reach ports that are simply off-limits to larger ships. She suits travellers after intimate, all-suite luxury cruising to far-flung places few large ships can access.
