Silver Nova

Silver Nova is a luxury cruise ship operated by Silversea Cruises. She entered service in 2023 and carries 728 passengers in 364 suites, making her a small ship. She was built at Meyer Werft in Germany with a unique asymmetrical design and is the first ship in the company's new Evolution-class, designed with environmentally friendly cruising in mind.

What sets Silver Nova apart is her propulsion system. She is the first hybrid luxury cruise ship, powered by a combination of liquefied natural gas, fuel cell system, and batteries, enabling her to operate emissions free when in port. The ship achieves a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and is projected to have an Energy Efficiency Design Index rating approximately 25 percent better than applicable International Maritime Organization requirements.

The asymmetrical design offsets the engine casing and allows for wider connected views to the ocean on the open decks and in public venues. Silver Nova features the Silversea fleet's highest space-to-passenger ratio of 75, which translates to a genuine sense of room and air aboard. The ship has 10 bars and lounges and 8 restaurants spread across 9 passenger decks.

All 363 staterooms feature step-out balconies and larger-than-average sizes by luxury cruise industry standards. Suites feature walk-in closets, large en-suite bathrooms, spacious balconies, and professional butler service. Silversea's all-inclusive fares include beverages including selected wines, gratuities, travel insurance, port charges, and shore excursions.

The Observation Lounge on deck 10 provides panoramic 270-degree views with floor-to-ceiling windows and houses the library. The Otium Spa includes an indoor pool, eight treatment rooms, a thermal suite with steam room and sauna, relaxation lounge, and fitness center. The ship features a 130 square-metre pool area, the largest in the cruise line's fleet, and the S.A.L.T. Bar has been relocated to deck 10 with a larger bar area and new outdoor space.

Silver Nova was officially christened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 4, 2024, by godmother Chef Nina Compton. She suits well-travelled luxury cruisers and those seeking a smaller, environmentally conscious ship where comfort and space take priority over scale.
