Norwegian Prima is a Prima class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. She entered service in August 2022 and carries 3,215 passengers at double occupancy, placing her in the mid sized category. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, she was christened in Reykjavik, Iceland, becoming the first major cruise ship to be christened in the city. Her hull artwork was created by Italian graffiti artist Manuel Di Rita, known as Peeta.
Open space is central to Prima's design. Ocean Boulevard is a one third mile outdoor boardwalk lined with restaurants, bars and lounge areas, with Oceanwalk providing a glass walkway over the side of the ship. The main pool deck has two infinity hot tubs, a pool bar, a children's water park and a tidal wave waterslide. There is also a three level race track, while The Rush and The Drop offer high speed dry slides.
Dining ranges from relaxed food hall options to more formal restaurants. Complimentary venues include Hudson's, which has 270 degree views over the stern, and the Indulge Food Hall, with 11 stations offering everything from contemporary dishes to casual food. Prima was also the first Norwegian Cruise Line ship to feature Palomar, the line's Mediterranean seafood restaurant.
The Haven is a private suite enclave at the top of the ship, with its own accommodation and access to private elevators. It includes a three bedroom suite designed by Piero Lissoni, the first of its kind for Norwegian in 15 years. Standard accommodation includes Balcony, Oceanview and Inside staterooms, while solo studios cater to single cruisers. In total, staterooms are offered across 35 grades and seven types.
Entertainment includes live shows in two theatres, a dedicated cinema and a range of activities around the ship. The Mandara Spa has saunas, pools and a two story waterfall, giving guests a quieter place to spend time.
Norwegian Prima suits families, couples and first time cruisers who like a mid sized ship with generous outdoor spaces, varied dining and plenty of things to do without relying solely on the main pool deck.
