Viking Jupiter entered service in 2019 and is the sixth ship in a series of identical vessels built for Viking Ocean. She carries 930 passengers, making her a small ship, and was designed around Viking's small ship travel, all-inclusive concept, blending the excursion-inclusive style of river cruising with an affordable luxury ocean cruise product.

The ship's standout feature is her planetarium, the Explorers' Dome, one of only three cruise ships in the world equipped with one. Located forward on Deck 8, this circular venue seats 26 guests and uses advanced projection technology to display constellations and other space-related visuals across its domed ceiling. The ship also carries a portable, electronically stabilized telescope for live night sky viewing, and a shipboard astronomer hosts outdoor stargazing sessions.

The two-deck Explorers' Lounge features a large forward-facing observation area, a design element rarely found on modern cruise ships. Like her sister ships, Viking Jupiter offers an intimate, boutique hotel style ambiance, with signature Scandinavian decor, luxury fabrics, spacious lounges with elegant leather furnishings, gourmet cuisine, and a curated art collection. Fare-inclusive amenities cover shore excursions, transfers, Wi-Fi, wine and beer at lunch and dinner, and access to the Nordic Spa, which includes a steam room, thalassotherapy pool, hot tub, snow grotto, sauna and cold plunge pool.

For dining, the main dining room offers open seating with daily-changing menus built around local specialties, using fresh ingredients sourced in port. Unlike most modern cruise ships, Viking Ocean vessels carry no casino. Entertainment venues include two cinemas, a theater lounge and bar, and a sports deck with a walking track and outdoor gym.

Viking Jupiter suits those seeking a smaller ship with a thoughtful, destination-focused approach, from active stargazers to guests who value intimate spaces and included amenities.
