Viking Sea

Viking Sea is a cruise ship built by Fincantieri in Italy for Viking Ocean Cruises, delivered at the Ancona shipyard on 24 March 2016. She was the second vessel in Viking's series of identical ocean ships. The 930-passenger Viking Sea offers a destination-focused cruising experience, with fewer sea days, extended port stays and more overnight calls in key destinations. She is a mid-sized ship built with Scandinavian sensibilities and a focus on destinations rather than onboard spectacle.

At the heart of Viking Sea sits a boutique hotel style atmosphere, with signature Scandinavian decor, premium fabrics, spacious lounges with elegant leather furnishings, gourmet cuisine and a curated art collection. The social hub is the Living Room, a three-deck open-floor atrium with live music performances, furnished with comfortable leather seating, artworks, shelved books and plenty of natural light. The two-deck Explorer's Lounge offers a large bow-facing observation area, a feature rarely found on modern cruise ships.

Dining reflects the line's commitment to European taste, with venues including the main Restaurant, buffet options such as Viking Deli and World Cafe, the Aquavit Terrace for alfresco dining, specialty venues like an Italian grill and Chef's Table, and two private dining rooms. Complimentary Wi-Fi, free shore excursions, and beer and wine at lunch and dinner all come included in the fare.

Every stateroom features a private balcony alongside modern amenities, including a king-size Viking Explorer bed with deluxe mattress and linens, an en-suite bathroom with heated floors and a glass-door shower, a seating area, a satellite phone and a smart HDTV with interactive systems. The ship does not offer dedicated children's facilities or programs.

Signature onboard facilities include two swimming pools, a covered pool deck with a jacuzzi and Bar and Grill, two cinemas, a wellness complex with spa and fitness centre, a Wintergarden, the Aquavit Terrace, a sports deck and various retail shops. As with all Viking Ocean ships, guests have complimentary access to the Snow Grotto, a spa experience where sauna heat gives way to a chilled room with falling snow.
