Norwegian Jewel is a Jewel class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. She entered service in 2005 and carries around 2,400 guests, placing her in the mid sized category. Built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, she was named at the Port of Miami on 3 November 2005 by Melania Trump and is the first of four ships in Norwegian's Jewel class.
Jewel has plenty of choice for meals and drinks, with complimentary restaurants including Azura and Tsar's Palace alongside specialty venues. Le Bistro provides French dining, while other options include Japanese teppanyaki, an Italian trattoria and Cagney's Steakhouse. The Bar City complex brings several different drinking spots together, including a beer and whisky bar, a martini and cocktail bar, and a champagne and wine bar. There is also a cigar bar and an adults only late night lounge.
The Stardust Theatre is the main evening entertainment venue, seating more than 1,000 guests for Broadway style productions. Shows include Rock You Tonight, built around music from the 1970s, and Velvet, which combines disco music with circus style acrobatics. The choice of lounges and bars also gives guests plenty of options after the main show.
The Mandara Spa offers more than 50 treatments for those looking for some quiet time. The Vibe Beach Club provides an adults only retreat with a private sundeck, loungers, an oversized hot tub and private cabanas available to rent. Three swimming pools and eight Jacuzzis add more opportunities to spend time outdoors.
Accommodation ranges from inside cabins and Oceanview rooms to balcony staterooms and suites. Among the most spacious are the three bedroom Garden Villas, which have large terraces. A major refurbishment in 2018 brought updated furnishings, flooring, HDTVs and USB outlets to the staterooms, along with improvements to The Haven and new cabanas on the Sun Deck.
