Grand Princess is a Grand class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, she entered service in 1998 and carries around 2,600 guests, placing her in the mid sized category. She was the first ship in the Grand class and was christened by actress Olivia de Havilland. When she launched, she was noted for her size and cost, marking an important step in the development of Princess Cruises' larger ships.
With accommodation that includes inside, ocean view and balcony staterooms, as well as suites and some family suite options. The ship has 1,301 cabins in total, providing a broad range of choices for different types of cruiser.
The Grand Piazza forms the social heart of the ship. This multi level gathering space provides seating and easy access to nearby venues including the International Café and Vines wine bar.
The ship's entertainment program ranges from production shows in the Princess Theater to films in the Vista Lounge. Other evening options include the Explorer's Lounge, One5 nightclub, Wheelhouse Bar and Crooners Martini Bar, giving guests plenty of choice when it is time to go out after dinner.
Dining is another strong part of Grand Princess. There are three main dining rooms, alongside speciality venues including Sabatini's Italian restaurant and Crown Grill steakhouse. Alfredo's Pizzeria provides a more casual option, while the International Café and Horizon Court buffet are useful for lighter meals and relaxed dining. Trident Grill adds another informal choice, and guests can also order room service or arrange Ultimate Balcony Dining.
For quieter time, The Sanctuary provides an adults only retreat, while the Lotus Spa and Fitness Center offers treatments and space for exercise. The ship also has four swimming pools and eight outdoor hot tubs. Movies Under the Stars brings films to the pool deck, while the Grand Casino and a range of lounges provide further evening options. Families have dedicated Kids' and Teen's Centers, and a Wedding Chapel.
