Viking Vesta entered service in July 2025, operated by Viking Ocean Cruises. She carries 998 passengers in 499 cabins, all outside with balconies. Christened in June 2025, she marks the second delivery in the newer, slightly expanded generation of the Viking Ocean fleet. Built by Fincantieri in Ancona, Italy, Vesta follows sister ship Viking Vela and reflects the line's ongoing commitment to smaller, more destination-focused ocean cruising.
The onboard atmosphere leans toward understated elegance, with an intimate, boutique hotel feel built around signature Scandinavian-themed decor, luxury fabrics, spacious lounges with classy leather furniture, gourmet cuisine, and a unique art collection throughout. This is very much an adults-only ship, with a minimum age of 16 and no dedicated kids' facilities or programmes.
Signature facilities include two swimming pools, a covered pool deck with jacuzzi, the Viking Living Room atrium lobby lounge, two cinemas, a modern wellness complex with spa and fitness centre, a dedicated sports deck with walking track and outdoor gym, a theatre lounge and bar, and a handful of shops. The two deck Explorer's Lounge features a large bow facing observation area, a genuine rarity among modern cruise vessels, while a wraparound Lanai and Promenade Deck fully encircles the ship.
At the heart of the spa sits the Snow Grotto, where guests move from sauna heat into a small room with benches and dark stone walls lit in blue, snow kept at sub freezing temperatures underfoot to stimulate circulation. This forms part of a wider thermal suite that also includes a hot tub, sauna, heated ceramic loungers, therapeutic showers, and a saltwater pool, all complimentary to every passenger.
Vesta leans into destination oriented cruising, favouring few sea days, longer port stays, and more overnight calls at key destinations, alongside complimentary Wi-Fi, free shore excursions, and wine and beer at no charge during lunch and dinner. Daily scheduled onboard activities round out the experience, and every cabin comes with a private balcony.
Vesta suits couples and discerning travellers who value depth over breadth on holiday, preferring longer stays in fewer destinations within a refined onboard environment.
