AIDAblu is a mid-sized Sphinx-class cruise ship operated by German line AIDA Cruises. Entering service in February 2010, she accommodates up to 2,050 passengers across 14 decks supported by 10 elevators. The vessel holds a notable maritime distinction: in 2011, she set a record for the fastest English Channel crossing by completing the route between Le Havre and Southampton in 6 hours and 45 minutes. AIDA designed the ship to function as a floating club resort, tailoring her layout to younger, active travelers seeking a lively and social atmosphere.
The ship offers extensive outdoor and entertainment facilities, anchored by 8,120 square meters of outer deck space that includes two primary swimming pools and four outdoor hot tubs. At her heart sits the 3,000-square-meter Theatrium, a three-deck combination of an atrium and theater seating 954 guests. Featuring soaring glass walls and a dynamic stage, the venue hosts live music, theatrical productions, comedians, magicians, and acrobatics. Wellness facilities are equally substantial, with a dedicated spa and wellness center covering more than 2,600 square meters. Guest services are enhanced by Pepper robots, interactive humanoid assistants stationed on board to assist travelers with boarding, dining options, shore excursions, and daily entertainment schedules.
Dining choices encompass six restaurants and 10 bars and lounges. A signature highlight of the ship is her onboard brewery, making her the first cruise ship in the world to brew its own beers fresh at sea. Included dining venues cover Markt, California Grill, East, and Bella Donna restaurants, while specialty dining like Rossini, Buffalo Steakhouse, and the Sushi Bar are available for an additional charge.
Accommodations total 1,096 cabins. These include 374 inside rooms (14 square meters), 391 oceanview rooms (14 to 17 square meters), 505 balcony cabins (17 to 23 square meters), and 15 suites.
With its stylish architecture, refined atmosphere, expansive dining lineup, and balanced deck spaces, AIDAblu stands out as a prime choice for cruisers of all backgrounds. Log your completed or upcoming voyage on AIDAblu in your account on The Cruise Globe.
