MS Oosterdam is a Vista-class cruise ship operated by Holland America Line. She launched in 2002 as the line's second Vista, and is sister to Noordam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. The ship carries around 2,000 passengers, placing her in the mid-sized range. Her name blends the Dutch word "oost," meaning east, with the suffix "dam," a common Dutch place name ending found on all Holland America ships. Oosterdam was christened by Princess Margriet of the Netherlands in Rotterdam on 29 July 2003.

The Vista class ships are named for the extensive use of glass in their superstructure. At the ship's midship, the Atrium features a large crystal globe as its centerpiece. Oosterdam has three swimming pools, including one with a retractable glass roof, alongside five outdoor Jacuzzis. For entertainment, the Vista Dining Room spans two decks at the ship's aft, with one level offering traditional fixed seating and the other open seating. Since 2016, the ship's main theater has hosted expert lectures and BBC Earth content, with evening concerts presented as multimedia shows with live musicians.

MS Oosterdam has 1,012 staterooms across thirty categories, with nearly seventy percent of cabins featuring private step-out balconies. All suites and balcony cabins include floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a private veranda with lounge furniture. A 2009 refurbishment added thirty-four new cabins and introduced new restaurants and bars, including a wine bar and an Italian dining room. The ship offers a range of onboard dining and drinking venues, from a main show lounge and piano bar to an explorer's lounge with classical music and a culinary arts center.

MS Oosterdam suits families, couples, and those seeking a mid-sized vessel with plenty of natural light, a good mix of dining and bar options, and a balance between activity and quieter retreats.
