Enchantment of the Seas is a Vision class cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International. Built in Finland and completed in July 1997, she carries just over 2,700 guests, placing her in the mid sized category. She was named in Southampton in July 1997 and is the fourth ship in Royal Caribbean's Vision class.
Enchantment has an unusual history among Royal Caribbean ships. During a major overhaul in 2005, the ship was cut in two and a 73 foot section was added amidships. The work increased the available space and gave the ship a distinctive layout, with the added section incorporating a larger pool deck and the Centrum Atrium. Glass enclosed elevators run through the atrium, adding to the sense of openness.
The Centrum is one of the main gathering spaces on board, rising seven decks beneath the Viking Crown Lounge. Located on Deck 11, the lounge provides panoramic views over the sea and is a good place to sit and watch the scenery. Elsewhere, the ship combines active facilities with quieter areas. The 40 foot rock climbing wall provides one of the main outdoor activities, while the adults only Solarium has a retractable glass roof and offers a calmer place to relax.
Dining includes the Windjammer Marketplace, where food is arranged across different stations, with choices ranging from cheese and pizza to carved meats and desserts. The ship also offers a main dining room and a selection of casual and speciality options. Evening entertainment includes Broadway style productions and other live performances, giving guests several ways to spend time after dinner.
Enchantment of the Seas has 1,142 staterooms across 22 categories, including suites, balcony, ocean view and inside accommodation. The cabins provide features such as convertible beds, private bathrooms, sitting areas, televisions, individual air conditioning and safes. The ship's accommodation gives couples, families and solo travelers a range of options.
