Spectrum of the Seas is a large Quantum-Ultra-class cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International. Built by the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, she was delivered in April 2019 as the lead ship of her class. Accommodating approximately 4,200 guests across 16 passenger decks, she was specifically designed for the Asian cruise market and was christened in Shanghai by Chinese celebrities Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy.
The vessel is renowned for its high-tech entertainment and activity features. Highlighting the upper decks is the North Star, a glass observation capsule that elevates guests 300 feet above sea level for 360-degree views, alongside the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator and the SkyPad virtual reality bungee trampoline. Indoor activity centers on the SeaPlex, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea, featuring bumper cars, roller skating, and sports courts. Public amenities also include two swimming pools, one protected by a retractable glass roof, the H2O Zone splash park, and the Bionic Bar, where robotic bartenders mix custom drinks. Main entertainment takes place in the 1,299-seat Royal Theater, which hosts aerial acrobatics and Broadway-caliber productions, and Two70, a multi-story lounge featuring dynamic projection mapping and robotic video screens.
Dining options offer a broad fusion of international and regional Asian cuisines. Highlights include Sichuan Red, a specialty restaurant tailored specifically to the ship featuring authentic regional spices, alongside classic venues like Wonderland, Chops Grille, Izumi, and the multi-level Main Dining Room.
Accommodations range from interior staterooms with virtual balconies to expansive oceanview and balcony cabins. The ship features the two-story Ultimate Family Suite, which includes an in-suite slide, air hockey table, and private cinema/karaoke room. Guests in the Royal Suite Class enjoy exclusive top-deck enclaves, private dining at Coastal Kitchen, and dedicated concierge service.
Spectrum of the Seas suits families, tech enthusiasts, and travelers looking for a modern, feature-packed ship with high-tech activities, diverse dining options, and world-class entertainment.
