Quantum of the Seas is the lead ship of Royal Caribbean International's Quantum class and entered service in October 2014. Built by Meyer Werft in Germany, she accommodates around 4,200 guests, making her a large cruise ship. She was christened by actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth during a ceremony at Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey, introducing a new generation of ships focused on technology, flexible spaces and innovative attractions.
One of Quantum of the Seas' most recognisable features is North Star, a glass observation capsule that gently rises high above the ship to provide sweeping panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding scenery. Guests can also visit the Bionic Bar, where robotic bartenders prepare cocktails, or head to SeaPlex, a large indoor activity space that hosts everything from sports and games to family entertainment. The sports facilities also include the FlowRider surf simulator and a rock climbing wall for those looking for a more active day on board.
Another standout venue is Two70, a striking multi deck lounge with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea. During the day it offers a peaceful setting to relax, while in the evening it transforms into a spectacular performance venue using digital projections, robotics and live performers to create immersive productions. Original entertainment, including the acclaimed Starwater show, reflects the ship's focus on combining technology with live theatre.
Dining offers a wide variety of international flavours, from Japanese dishes at Izumi and interactive meals at The Hot Pot to Italian favourites at Jamie's Italian and classic steakhouse dining at Chops Grille. The elegant main dining room remains a popular choice for traditional multi course dinners served in stylish surroundings.
Accommodation ranges from comfortable inside cabins to spacious suites, with interior staterooms featuring Virtual Balconies that display real time views outside the ship. Solo travellers are catered for with dedicated studio cabins, while the impressive loft suites provide generous living space across two levels. Quantum of the Seas is an excellent choice for families, couples and active travellers who enjoy modern attractions, innovative entertainment and a cruise that offers something different from the traditional holiday at sea.
