Costa Fortuna is a cruise ship for the Italian line Costa Crociere, built in 2003 and carrying around 2,700 guests, placing her in the mid-sized category. She was built on the same platform as Carnival Cruise Line's Destiny class, sharing core engineering and layout with sister ship Costa Magica and several Carnival vessels. Fincantieri constructed her in Italy, and she entered service on 17 November 2003 after several years of planning and design work.

Costa Fortuna draws inspiration from the great Italian steamships of the past, with models of these historic vessels displayed throughout her public areas. In the atrium, models of 26 past and present ships from the Costa fleet hang upside down from the ceiling, running right up to and including Costa Fortuna herself. That quirky ceiling gallery gives the ship real personality and reminds guests they are sailing with a line steeped in history.

Her name carries Mediterranean heritage through into her atmosphere and design. The 2,700 passenger ship features a high proportion of balcony cabins, several alternative dining venues, and vibrant, character filled decor throughout. Cabins range from interior rooms to balcony staterooms and suites, covering a wide range of budgets and preferences, with something to suit nearly every kind of traveller.

Dining leans traditional, built around a main restaurant alongside several à la carte venues. Onboard, guests will find a pool deck with multiple pools, a spa and wellness facility, and theatre-style entertainment each evening. An adults-only solarium and quieter sun decks offer retreat spaces set apart from the livelier areas that draw crowds for shows and evening gatherings.

Costa Fortuna suits cruisers seeking a mid-sized ship with a distinctly European flavour and a more relaxed pace than today's newest mega ships.
