Seven Seas Mariner is a cruise ship operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Built in 2001, she is the second-oldest vessel in the Regent fleet and carries roughly 700 guests, placing her firmly among the mid-sized ships. She was the first all-suite, all-balcony ship in the world, and earned Ship of the Year in 2002 from Ocean and Cruise News. What began as genuine innovation back in 2001 has remained central to her character ever since: every one of her 354 staterooms is a suite with a private balcony.

The intimacy on board makes a real difference. Her staff-to-guest ratio sits at 1 to 1.6, among the finest in luxury cruising, and it shows both in the attentiveness of the crew and in the spacious feel of the public rooms. The ship sits somewhere between a grand hotel and a country club, with open decks and seating areas designed to encourage conversation rather than crowd guests together.

Dining was part of her original appeal. She was the first ship to offer dining by the renowned Le Cordon Bleu of Paris in one of her restaurants. Today, the Compass Rose dining room offers open seating for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while La Veranda transforms from a daytime buffet into an evening Mediterranean bistro. There is also the specialty steakhouse Prime 7, included in the fare, along with café spaces for quieter meals or informal dining in the suite.

Entertainment and activities weave quietly through the day and evening. The Constellation Theatre hosts Broadway-style productions, and lounges are set up for cards, conversation and drinks, alongside a casino, spa and pools. Aboard Seven Seas Mariner there is a sense of refinement without the high spectacle of larger ships. The cabins reflect this too, ranging from spacious inside suites to sprawling Mariner Suites with two bedrooms, two and a half baths, and two private balconies.

Because she remains all-inclusive, with beverages, most dining and shore excursions built into the fare, she attracts experienced travellers and those who simply prefer to plan less.
