Seven Seas Navigator is a luxury cruise ship operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises, entering service in 1999. She is the smallest and oldest ship in the Regent fleet. The vessel was originally built as a USSR research ship and was then purchased, stripped and converted into a top-luxury cruise liner, becoming the company's first all-suite ship. She carries around 506 passengers across 245 all-suite staterooms. At 506 guests, Navigator falls into the small ship category, an intimate scale that shapes the entire experience aboard.
Ninety percent of her cabins feature private verandas. Even the smallest suites offer genuine comfort, with spacious layouts and ocean views. The larger Navigator Suites and Master Suites come with separate living spaces, dining areas and multiple bathrooms, whilst higher categories include a personal butler service. The ship underwent a 40 million dollar refurbishment in March and April 2016, upgrading common areas and suites. All accommodation carries the hallmarks of Regent's luxury approach. warm lighting, quality bedding, and premium bath products come as standard.
The dining programme spans several venues. Compass Rose is the main dining room, operating with open seating for breakfast, lunch and dinner. La Veranda serves as a daytime buffet for breakfast and lunch, then transforms into a Mediterranean bistro in the evening. Prime 7 is a speciality steakhouse offering complimentary dinner by reservation. In keeping with Regent's all-inclusive model, wines, spirits and beverages flow throughout.
Onboard life balances activity with quieter pursuits. A casino, spa and fitness centre occupy guests who want structure. Others find the pools, bars and lounges, including Galileo's Lounge with its grand piano, perfectly suited to a gentler pace. The ship carries expert lecturers and offers cultural talks and trivia. Evening entertainment ranges from live music to shows, with recent additions including a tribute to British Invasion rock, giving each voyage its own character.
Navigator suits discerning travellers and couples who value understated luxury, all-inclusive pricing and the intimacy of a smaller ship. On The Cruise Globe, you can log the exact course she actually sailed.
