Carnival Spirit

Carnival Spirit is a Spirit-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. She was built in Helsinki by Kværner Masa-Yards and entered service in 2001 as the first of her class to join the Carnival fleet. The ship carries 2,100 passengers and introduced several company firsts, including onboard wedding chapels and alternative dining venues. She was formally named by American politician Elizabeth Dole in Miami, Florida, on 27 April 2001.

Legendary designer Joe Farcus drew inspiration from artistic history, which reflects throughout the ship's decor. The primary showroom features intricate Egyptian motifs, the piano bar nods to Shanghai's classic Chinoise style, and the central lobby pays tribute to European master painters. The Empire Restaurant seats 1,300 guests and showcases Napoleonic grandeur with mural-decorated domes, crystal chandeliers, gold-trimmed portholes, and a grand circular staircase anchored by a sculpture of Napoleon's coronation.

Spirit-class ships feature an impressive 80 percent ratio of outside staterooms, combining a traditional ocean view layout with popular brand amenities. The vessel offers a diverse selection of dining spots, specialty lounges, and creative cocktail bars, surrounded by curated artwork.

The vessel underwent a major transformation that added the Green Thunder waterslide, a high-speed drop slide, an updated aqua park, an adults-only Serenity retreat, and top-deck barbecue dining. Subsequent drydock enhancements expanded the Cloud 9 Spa, modernized the fitness center, updated retail shops, and created dedicated spaces for the Chef's Table experience alongside a redesigned casino and mini golf course.

Families benefit from Camp Ocean, a supervised youth complex providing age-appropriate activities and games across three distinct age brackets for children aged 2 through 11. Evening entertainment includes full-scale stage productions, live comedy, piano sing-alongs, and late-night lounge sets.
