Renaissance

Renaissance is a mid-sized cruise ship operated by Compagnie Française de Croisières that entered commercial service in June twenty twenty-three following its purchase by the French operator in twenty twenty-two. Originally constructed in Italy in nineteen ninety-two as Maasdam for Holland America Line, the vessel accommodates between eleven hundred and twelve hundred guests as the second vessel of the four-ship Statendam class.

Following its acquisition, the cruise ship underwent an extensive redesign by Tomas Tillberg Design that included the complete renovation of all six hundred twenty-nine passenger staterooms. Guest accommodations feature three hundred fifty-two oceanview cabins, one hundred twenty-eight interior rooms, and one hundred forty-nine balcony suites that ensure nearly twenty-five percent of staterooms offer private step-out balconies.

Onboard public spaces encompass twelve distinct bars and lounges alongside refined culinary venues like the Chef's Table, a specialized VIP dining space dedicated to upscale French cuisine. Outdoor recreational facilities feature the Moana sundeck on the Lido Deck, which includes one swimming pool and three whirlpools sheltered beneath a retractable glass roof alongside a second swimming pool and two outdoor jacuzzis.

The vessel offers an authentic French premium sailing experience featuring French-speaking crew members, refined regional gastronomy, and an immersive cultural program designed for European itineraries departing directly from regional ports. Combining classic maritime design elements like a traditional teak promenade deck with updated modern amenities, the cruise ship caters to travelers seeking culturally enriching voyages across European waters.

Renovations throughout the ship replaced seventeen thousand square meters of carpeting and added modern minibars to provide comfortable accommodations for all passengers throughout their journey. The central atrium retains a glass sculpture crafted by artist Luciano Vistosi containing over two thousand individual pieces of glass that serves as an artistic focal point on board.
