MSC Virtuosa is a Meraviglia Plus-class cruise ship operated by MSC Cruises. She entered service in May 2021 and carries around 4,810 passengers, which makes her a large ship. Built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, she is the second ship in the Meraviglia Plus class and sister ship to MSC Grandiosa. MSC Virtuosa was named to pay homage to the skills and expertise of the MSC Cruises architects and shipyard partners at Chantiers de l'Atlantique who designed and built this innovative class of ships.
At the heart of Virtuosa lies an expansive indoor shopping and dining promenade called the Galleria Virtuosa, with over 11 boutiques and 250 brands. The ship is home to two Carousel Lounge productions, AJEDREZ and ARKYMEA, combining music, lighting, and acrobatic performances. The Broadway Theater shows rotating productions on a stage overlooking the atrium, while live music and entertainment run across multiple venues throughout the day and evening.
The dining experience spans around fourteen restaurants and food bars. Options include a steakhouse called Butcher's Cut, a pastry bar by celebrity chef Jean Philippe Maury, Kaito Sushi and Kaito Teppanyaki restaurants, and a buffet open 20 hours a day. The ship also features a casual variety of cafés and a champagne bar for quieter moments.
One of Virtuosa's most distinctive features is the MSC Starship Club. It introduced the cruise industry's first humanoid robot bartender, Rob, created after six years of development with specialists in robotics and digital design, who prepares and serves cocktails using natural human-like movements and communicates in eight languages. The bar pairs robotic bartending with holographic projections and an interactive digital galactic tour table.
For relaxation and activity, the ship offers 5 pools including one of the biggest and most intricate waterparks at sea, capable of accommodating over 1,000 guests with comfort, with the Atmosphere Pool being one of the most spacious found at sea. The MSC Aurea Spa offers thermal zones, massage treatments, and beauty services, while a gym with panoramic views overlooks the ocean. Families benefit from a long-standing partnership with the LEGO Group to design kids club areas and on board activities.
Cabins range from standard interior and ocean-view rooms to balcony cabins and suites. The ship offers duplex suites with private whirlpool baths, sea-view balcony cabins and family options. The MSC Yacht Club adds an exclusive layer for those seeking fine dining, dedicated lounges, and butler service.
Virtuosa suits families, couples, and anyone seeking a large modern ship with substantial choice. The Cruise Globe captures where this ship has actually sailed so you can see the full picture of her real routes at sea.
