Celebrity Solstice is the lead ship of Celebrity Cruises’ Solstice class. She entered service in November 2008 and carries around 2,900 guests, putting her in the mid sized category. Built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, she was christened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, by ocean scientist Professor Sharon L. Smith.

Solstice introduced several features that were unusual at the time, including the first real grass lawn at sea and the first hot glass class onboard. The Lawn provides an open space for relaxing, while the hot glass studio adds a more hands on activity. The ship’s design also centres on a 12 deck high atrium, creating a bright gathering place with views towards the sea.

Dining is a major part of life onboard, with the main dining room joined by specialty restaurants and more casual choices. Of the 10 restaurants onboard, six are open for breakfast, five for lunch and seven for dinner. The ship’s 2026 refit also added new dining venues, including an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse, according to the supplied information.

Entertainment is centred on the 1,115 seat Celebrity Theater, where guests can see large scale musical productions and shows including Ghost Light, Pulse and The Solstice Show, a cirque style acrobatics production. Elsewhere, there is live music, comedy and a selection of enrichment activities, including cooking classes and destination lectures.

Cabins range from inside and Oceanview rooms to balcony cabins and suites. Where guests receive a range of additional services and access, including butler service, priority check in, specialty dining and a suite only lounge and restaurant.

Away from the main venues, Solstice has a spa and fitness center, pools and hot tubs, bars ranging from a martini bar to poolside spots, and quieter areas for relaxing. A pickleball court is also located on the Sports Deck. With its combination of dining, entertainment and thoughtful public spaces.
