Victoria I is a cruise ferry operated by Estonia-based Tallink Grupp, a mid-sized ship carrying around 2,500 passengers and up to 300 cars. She entered service in 2004, built at Aker Yards in Rauma, Finland, as part of Tallink's fleet modernisation that introduced several new cruise ferry designs to the Baltic Sea.
Victoria I runs as a genuine working ship for the Baltic. She covers the Estonia to Finland crossing between Tallinn and Helsinki, taking around 22 hours, and is also deployed seasonally on the Estonia to Sweden route between Tallinn and Stockholm via Mariehamn, Åland. These longer crossing times reflect both her efficient design and the distances involved in Baltic routing, and in summer months she also runs cruises from Tallinn and Helsinki to Visby in Gotland, Sweden.
Onboard, she balances passenger comfort with the practical nature of Baltic ferry service. Victoria I has 727 cabins totalling 2,172 berths, spread across decks 5, 8, and 9. All staterooms are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, available in both inside and outside configurations, with categories ranging from Executive Suites featuring separate bedrooms and included breakfast, through to simpler inside rooms. Wheelchair accessible cabins and special accommodation for passengers with allergies or travelling with pets are also available.
She's built for practical, overnight cruising, with room service and dining that reflect the honest ferryboat character of the route. In 2020, Victoria I connected to shore power at Tallinn Old City Harbour, marking Estonia's first use of shore power for cruise vessels, a genuine step forward in cutting emissions during port time.
Victoria I suits passengers after straightforward, honest travel on working Baltic routes, overnight crossings where comfortable accommodation matters more than resort-style amenities, and those keen to spend time across three nations in one journey.
