Sirena joined Oceania Cruises in 2016 after being christened that April. An R-class vessel built in 1999, she began as a 700-passenger ship alongside sister ships Regatta, Insignia and Nautica, and now carries 698 passengers in 349 staterooms. Before joining Oceania, she operated for Princess Cruises as Ocean Princess and underwent a 35-day refurbishment in 2016. Sirena is a mid-sized ship that brings genuine intimacy to the cruising experience without ever feeling cramped.
Claudine Pépin christened Sirena when she entered service, and her father, legendary master chef Jacques Pépin, serves as Oceania Cruises' Executive Culinary Director. The ship underwent the OceaniaNEXT refurbishment in May 2019, which included a new lobby with a Grand Staircase set beneath a large crystal chandelier of hand-painted glass pieces. Dining runs across four restaurants and specialty venues. Tuscan Steak blends traditions from Oceania's steakhouse Polo Grill with its Italian restaurant Toscana, while the Terrace Café serves as a casual buffet by day before transforming into Tapas on the Terrace in the evenings, with Mediterranean cuisine. A sushi station offers roughly 45 recipes, including sashimi, uramaki and nigiri.
For entertainment, the ship features high energy production shows with talented vocalists and classical music. An English-style library holds more than 2,000 books and periodicals, while a Monte Carlo style casino and the Grand Bar offer evening options, and Horizons provides sunset views with wine and live music. Complimentary fitness classes ranging from Pilates and yoga to strength training round out the offerings, alongside personal training and modern exercise equipment.
Staterooms include 62 suites and 170 balcony cabins, with roughly 66 percent of accommodations featuring private balconies. All cabins were renovated with new furnishings, luxury bedding and artwork. The Owner's Suites, at nearly 1,000 square feet, feature custom furnishings, an oversized shower and a private teak veranda. Specialty dining, shipboard gratuities and complimentary Wi-Fi are included in the fare.
Sirena suits experienced cruise passengers and travelers seeking a smaller, elegantly appointed ship where food and wine are taken seriously, with genuine quiet space to retreat to when you choose.
