Celestyal Journey

Celestyal Journey is a mid-sized cruise ship carrying 1,260 passengers across 630 staterooms. She began service in 1994 with Holland America Line as Ryndam before being resold to Celestyal Cruises in 2023.

Her history along the way is genuinely interesting. After nine years with Holland America, she moved to P&O Cruises Australia as Pacific Aria, sailing over 450,000 nautical miles (835,000 km) during her years there. She was later sold to a Greek ferry company and laid up as Aegean Goddess before Celestyal picked her up for a new chapter.

Between May and August 2023, the ship went through an extensive 21 million dollar refurbishment and technical overhaul ahead of joining the Celestyal fleet. The renovation refreshed 1,000 pieces of furniture, 6,000 metres of fabric, and over 10,000 square metres of carpeting, with public spaces gaining new artwork and contemporary wallpapers throughout.

Onboard, guests will find seven dining venues, eight bars and lounges, expansive sun decks, and two pools, plus an entire deck dedicated to wellness. The main pool on Deck 11 sits under a retractable glass roof, keeping swimming possible year round. Accommodation highlights include the Stargazer Suite, the line's first ever penthouse with a private terrace, alongside 120 junior suites and 28 grand suites, all with balconies.

Entertainment runs through a two deck live show lounge and live music performances across the ship, along with cooking workshops and lectures for guests who want something more hands on. For quieter moments, the wellness deck offers spa and fitness amenities away from the main deck buzz. Guests booked into Dream Suites also get exclusive access to The Beach Club, a secluded outdoor space with ice cream stations and juice corners.
