Rangiroa sits in the Tuamotu Archipelago of French Polynesia, located about 355 kilometers northeast of Tahiti. Functioning as a scenic port of call, the destination features an elliptical lagoon extending 80 kilometers in length and up to 32 kilometers in width. Cruise ships anchor off Tiputa on the northeastern coast, tendering passengers directly ashore to explore the surrounding white sand islets and quiet coastal villages. The two primary settlements, Avatoru and Tiputa, sit across from each other across Tiputa Pass.
