National Geographic Resolution is an expedition ship with an ice-strengthened hull, owned and operated by Lindblad Expeditions and delivered in September 2021. She accommodates 138 passengers with a crew of 116, and is the second vessel in the Endurance class, named in honour of explorer James Cook and his ship HMS Resolution, which crossed the Antarctic Circle in 1773.

Resolution entered service in November 2021 and operates expedition voyages, including sailings south of the Antarctic Circle, designed to reach remote polar regions. Her ice-strengthened hull features an X-bow design, a configuration originally developed for offshore vessels, which reduces wave impact, improves stability in rough seas, and enhances fuel efficiency. Daily expedition activities typically include ice landings, guided hikes, Zodiac excursions, and kayaking.

Onboard, Resolution balances comfort with the demands of a working expedition. She offers seven dining venues, including the 270 degree Restaurant, with floor to ceiling windows, panoramic views, and flexible single or open seating, built around fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable ingredients. An outdoor Winter Garden hosts heated deck barbecues and dining. Of her 69 staterooms, 56 are standard cabins, 75 percent with private balconies, plus 13 balcony suites featuring floor to ceiling glass doors opening onto large step out balconies.

The ship carries a full time doctor and a dedicated expedition team, including an undersea specialist, National Geographic photographer, and photo instructor. Through Lindblad's partnership with National Geographic, voyages include scientists and naturalists who deliver educational programming and conduct research into marine conservation, climate science, and wildlife monitoring. Lindblad's Open Bridge policy gives passengers 24 hour access to the navigation bridge to meet the officers and captain, weather permitting.

Resolution was christened on November 24, 2021, on an ice sheet in Antarctica's Weddell Sea by Captain Heidi Norling, one of Lindblad's first international fleet female captains.

She suits expedition travellers after polar waters and remote landings, backed by direct access to scientific expertise and National Geographic's storytelling.
