Greg Mortimer is a cruise ship operated by Aurora Expeditions, named in honour of the company's founder in a combined naming and delivery ceremony at CMHI's Haimen base on 6 September 2019. She's named after Australian mountaineer, polar explorer, and Aurora Expeditions founder Greg Mortimer, who became best known as one of the first two Australians, alongside Tim Macartney-Snape, to summit Mount Everest, on 3 October 1984.

This small expedition ship carries around 120 to 160 guests. At 104 metres, she features a state of the art X-bow design that pierces through smaller waves for a smoother ride, and is ice strengthened to Polar Class 6, purpose built for exploring the world's remotest waters. She has 80 cabins in total, all outside, featuring either a step out balcony, French balcony, or porthole windows, with around 80 percent offering a private step out balcony.

Onboard, the atmosphere balances comfort with genuine expedition focus. She spans 6 passenger decks and 2 sun decks, with 3 restaurants, open deck dining, a piano bar, an observation lounge, a show lounge for lectures, wellness facilities including gym and spa, a shop, a library, and a dedicated Mudroom for Zodiac landings, alongside 20 Zodiac boats, a swimming pool, two jacuzzis, and a pool bar. Interiors lean into a neutral colour palette drawn from polar region nature.

Dedicated outdoor observation areas include a fore located Observation Deck with two hydraulic viewing platforms accessed from Deck 5, plus a stern marina serving as a watersports platform for the line's sea kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving programs. These spaces are built for the kind of close observation and active exploration that defines genuine expedition travel.

Greg Mortimer suits travellers drawn to polar destinations and remote island exploration, from the Antarctic Peninsula to the Arctic's ice and wildlife.
