Scenic Eclipse is an ultra-luxury expedition cruise ship operated by the Scenic Group that officially entered commercial service in August two thousand nineteen. Constructed at the Uljanik shipyard in Pula, Croatia, the vessel accommodates up to two hundred twenty-eight guests while featuring an ice-strengthened hull built for high-latitude polar exploration.
Inspired by private mega-yachts, the vessel was formally named by actress Helen Mirren in New York City in September two thousand nineteen. Onboard equipment includes two state-of-the-art helicopters housed in custom hangars, twelve expedition Zodiacs, one mini-submarine, and a retractable stern marina platform for launching ocean kayaks and paddleboards.
All guest accommodations across the ship are configured exclusively as suites with private step-out balconies, ranging in size from thirty-two square meters up to two hundred fifty-five square meters in the expansive owner suite. Personal butler service is extended to every stateroom, while all dining venues, premium beverages, shore excursions, and onboard gratuities are fully included in the all-inclusive fare.
Culinary offerings feature nine distinct dining venues alongside twenty-four-hour in-suite service and eight individual bars and lounges distributed throughout the ship. Specialty dining highlights include open-kitchen Teppanyaki grills, an exclusive Chef's Table experience, contemporary French cuisine at Lumiere, and relaxed casual meals at Azure Bar and Grill.
When navigating sensitive Arctic and Antarctic polar environments, passenger capacity is intentionally capped at two hundred guests to meet strict environmental and expedition landing standards. An expert Discovery Team accompanies these polar sailings to lead shore landings, conduct educational lectures, and operate specialized Zodiac excursions across remote glacial waters.
Combining the refined intimacy of a private superyacht with deep polar capability, the vessel caters to discerning travelers seeking immersive nature encounters without sacrificing comfort. The versatile ship sails global itineraries during non-polar seasons while maintaining high standards of personal service and culinary craftsmanship across every voyage.
