Coral Discoverer is an expedition cruise ship built in 2005 by NQEA Shipbuilders in Cairns, Australia. She carries 72 passengers and is homeported in Cairns, Tropical North Queensland, making her a small expedition vessel with a superyacht-style design built for comfort in close quarters.

When she launched, she was the first Australian-owned, flagged and staffed passenger ship to be fully compliant with SOLAS international maritime safety standards, a meaningful milestone for the Australian expedition cruising industry at the time. She was previously named Oceanic Princess and Oceanic Discoverer before being renamed Coral Discoverer in June 2015.

Coral Discoverer holds four passenger decks with 36 cabins, an open seating dining room, an alfresco dining deck, a lounge and lecture lounge, two cocktail bars and a sun deck. Staterooms have been refurbished with upgraded furnishings, new artwork and modernized bathrooms, and six Bridge Deck balcony cabins were added during recent updates, offering guests a touch more space and privacy. She carries inflatable Zodiacs, a glass bottom boat, kayaks and the Xplorer excursion tender for exploring remote areas that larger ships cannot reach.

Like all Coral Expeditions ships, Coral Discoverer is Australia-flagged, based in Australia and staffed entirely by Australian crew, a consistency that shapes the onboard culture and style of service, giving guests a genuinely local perspective on the waters she sails.

Coral Discoverer suits people seeking genuine expedition cruising with a focus on access to remote, less visited coastlines and communities, rather than onboard entertainment and facilities. Her small passenger count means intimate experiences ashore and the chance to reach shallow draft anchorages and narrow waterways that larger ships simply cannot navigate.
