MV Clio

MV Clio is a cruise ship owned and operated by Grand Circle Cruise Line, built at the Alstom Leroux shipyard in St Malo, France, in 1998. She has 44 staterooms accommodating 88 passengers, served by 62 crew and staff, placing her firmly among the small ships.

She originally sailed with Compagnie du Ponant as Le Levant until December 2012, when she was refurbished and transferred to Paul Gauguin Cruises as Tere Moana. Paul Gauguin Cruises later sold her to Grand Circle Cruises in August 2015, and following her renaming to Clio, she began service for the line in July 2016, marking yet another chapter in a genuinely well-travelled career that spans several flags and identities.

Clio was designed with leisure and comfort firmly in mind. She features two open seating restaurants, Le Veranda, offering buffet style service, and L'Etoile, serving a la carte selections, alongside Le Salon, her bar lounge, known for live piano music. Further amenities include a pool bar, library, fitness centre, sun deck with swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a Deep Nature Spa, giving guests plenty of quiet corners to enjoy between excursions ashore.

Watersports run from the aft marina platform, with complimentary snorkeling gear provided for guests. With one crew member for every 1.5 passengers, service stays genuinely personalised throughout, and gratuities are included in the fare. Vegetarian, wellness-focused, and special dietary menus are all available on request.

Clio specialises in European, Caribbean, and Latin American cruises, and her small size paired with an attentive crew ratio makes her well suited to travellers who prefer intimate ships with a relaxed pace, strong personal service, and the chance to explore less visited ports.
