MV Corinthian is a small cruise ship operated by Grand Circle Cruise Line, carrying approximately 100 passengers. Built in 1990 at Cantiere Navale Ferrari-Signani in La Spezia, Italy, she was previously operated by Renaissance Cruises as Renaissance IV and by Great Lakes Cruise Company.
The ship has had a varied history, known for a time as Clelia 2 before joining Grand Circle Cruise Line in 2013. Her versatile, ice-strengthened design has taken her from inland waterways to some of the world's most remote coastlines, offering voyages suited to experienced and thoughtful cruisers.
Every stateroom aboard is a suite. The ship holds 50 suites with a minimum size of 215 square feet, all equipped with modern hotel-style amenities. Cabins feature individual climate control, television, king-size beds that convert to twins, personal safes, refrigerators and full-size showers. Guests in Penthouse and Veranda Suites enjoy a private balcony, butler service and upgraded in-suite amenities.
The dining and beverage approach sets Corinthian apart from larger ships. The vessel has one restaurant with single, unassigned seating, where complimentary beverages, including bottled water, tea and coffee, soft drinks, premium spirits and select fine wines, are served throughout. Vegetarian, wellness-focused and special dietary menus are available upon request.
Public spaces balance intimacy with comfort. Amenities include two bar lounges, a library with internet café, a wellness complex with spa and gym, a boutique shop, jacuzzi, swimming platform and ample deck space for sunbathing. Interiors are warm and elegant, featuring rich fabrics, polished brass, fine woods, rare antiquities and artwork.
Her design makes her well suited to expedition cruising. The ice-strengthened hull, retractable stabilizers and fleet of Zodiacs enable shoreside landings and exploration, and gratuities are included in the fare. Corinthian appeals to discerning travelers, couples and those wanting genuine exploration without the scale or formality of larger oceangoing vessels.
