Star Navigator is a mid-sized cruise ship operating for StarCruises, built in 1999 by Meyer Werft in Germany and carrying around 2,800 guests. She was originally launched as SuperStar Virgo for Star Cruises and was later renamed Explorer Dream when she joined Dream Cruises in 2019. Following a complete redesign that included a 65 million dollar refurbishment, she returned to service under her current name in 2025.
The heart of the ship is The Palace, an exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept spanning decks 9 to 11. This premium enclave holds 46 suites with Italian decor and provides guests with dedicated butler service, private dining in the Palace Restaurant serving European and Asian gourmet cuisine, a private sundeck with a swimming pool, and access to the Genting Club lounge. The exclusive environment creates a distinct experience within the larger ship.
For all guests, Star Navigator offers a range of accommodation types, from interior cabins to oceanview rooms with picture windows, balcony staterooms with step-out verandas, and premium suites. Dining spans multiple venues, with menus reflecting both global cuisines and regional Asian dishes suited to local tastes. The line offers certified halal options alongside vegetarian and Jain menus, broadening its appeal to a wide range of travelers.
Entertainment and activities are woven throughout the ship, from live performances to pools and recreation areas. In 2025, the ship received upgraded sports facilities, including a new pickleball court. Her background across different operators and markets has shaped a character focused on serving Asian cruise passengers while welcoming international guests seeking short regional voyages.
Star Navigator suits couples and families looking for a mid-sized ship with Asian market expertise, regional routings across the wider Asia-Pacific, and the option of adding premium, butler-service luxury with The Palace.
