Star Voyager is a Sun class cruise ship operated by StarCruises, having previously sailed for Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia. Built by Fincantieri at their yard in Monfalcone, Italy, in 1997, she features eight restaurants, four swimming pools, five hot tubs and spas, seven lounges and bars, and two children's centres. Carrying 998 cabins for around 1,996 passengers at standard occupancy, she's a mid-sized vessel built for leisure cruising at a relaxed pace and solid value.
Her history is genuinely varied. Originally sailing in Australia from 2008, she stayed based there permanently, running from Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth until her transfer to P&O Cruises Australia. A 2009 refurbishment added the Movies Under the Stars outdoor theatre and an adults-only deck area, and when she moved to P&O Australia in 2017, she arrived in Sydney for a three day stay before setting off on her maiden voyage to the Pacific islands. In February 2025, Resorts World Cruises announced it would acquire the ship that March, and though briefly named Star Scorpio, she was instead renamed Star Voyager.
Dining and bars span multiple venues throughout the ship. Eight restaurants cater to different tastes, and the refurbishment that reshaped her for P&O brought two new specialty restaurants, Dragon Lady for Asian fare and Angelo's for Italian, alongside her existing dining options. Several pools and hot tubs round things out, plus the outdoor movie screen and adults-only area for guests after quieter moments away from families.
Entertainment runs through The Marquee theatre for evening shows and live music venues, while the two children's centres keep younger guests occupied. Deck spaces offer plenty of sun lounging and sea views, with onboard activity programs filling the days.
Star Voyager operates seasonal deployments from multiple homeports, including Singapore, Jakarta, Malacca, Bangkok, and Saigon, focusing on short voyages through Southeast Asia.
Star Voyager suits families, couples, and cruise newcomers after a mid-sized ship with solid amenities and a friendly, accessible atmosphere, especially for exploring Asian destinations.
