About Rathlin Island
Rathlin Island lies off the coast of County Antrim and is Northern Ireland's northernmost point. Serving as a quiet and rugged port of call, cruise ships and passenger ferries dock at Church Bay along the island's southwestern coast. The primary harbor connects the island to mainland Northern Ireland at Ballycastle, located approximately six miles across the Rathlin Sound, providing convenient access for day visitors exploring this isolated outpost.

Centuries later, in July 1898, the island achieved international technological acclaim when pioneer Guglielmo Marconi's engineers established the world's first commercial wireless telegraphy link between the East Lighthouse on Rathlin and Ballycastle.

The surrounding terrain is naturally wild, steep, and windswept, shaped over millennia by heavy ocean spray, crushing Atlantic waves, and coastal weather systems.
