Margaritaville at Sea Islander is a mid-sized Spirit-class cruise ship operated by Margaritaville at Sea. Originally constructed in 2000 by Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, she entered service as Costa Atlantica before undergoing an extensive four-month refit at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast in early 2024. Re-launching in June 2024, the vessel carries approximately 2,210 guests across 1,105 staterooms. She was christened by godmother Savannah Buffett, daughter of Margaritaville founder Jimmy Buffett.
The ship preserves its classical architecture and open structural design while incorporating vibrant, island-inspired interior details. The centerpiece of the vessel is a soaring 14-deck Atrium adorned with a nautical theme and anchored by an Atrium Bar featuring three multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers. Onboard amenities include four swimming pools, with one protected by a retractable glass roof, alongside five whirlpools and 16 guest elevators. Outdoor recreation and youth activities feature a mini-golf course, the three-deck LandShark Bar at Sea, and the Caribbean Amphibian Splash Pool and Slide. Family entertainment includes the interactive circus-themed Defying Gravity Experience, supported by four age-specific youth clubs: Jolly Mon (ages 3 to 5), Parakeets (ages 6 to 9), The Hang Out (ages 10 to 12), and The Far Out Teen Club (ages 13 to 17).
Dining and nightlife center on Margaritaville's signature tropical food concepts, introducing six new dining venues and 11 exclusive bars and lounges to the brand. Key options include JWB Prime Steakhouse, Rita's Taco House, Pizzeria, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, and the Cheeseburger Bar.
Accommodations span 1,105 refreshed staterooms blending casual beach resort styling with functional layouts, with approximately 64 percent of all cabins offering private step-out balconies. Options range from 228 inside and 179 oceanview cabins to 620 balcony staterooms and 52 spacious suites tailored for shorter tropical vacations.
