Hebridean Sky is a small cruise ship built in 1991 by Nuovi Cantieri Apuania in Italy and originally launched as Renaissance VII for Renaissance Cruises. She's owned by London-based cruise company Noble Caledonia and accommodates up to 120 passengers across 59 cabins. As an ice-rated vessel, she has operated as an expedition cruise ship in both Antarctica and the Arctic.
Noble Caledonia acquired her in 2014 alongside sister vessels Island Sky and Caledonian Sky, all three formerly sailing for Renaissance, and she underwent a refit in April 2016. Her intimate scale suits exploration cruising well, and she's fully equipped with Zodiac craft, allowing passengers to reach remote destinations including the Scottish Isles, alongside equipment for scuba diving.
Accommodation is arranged entirely in all-suite cabins. Her 59 staterooms start at 20 square metres for the smallest, all outward-facing with en-suite bathrooms, while 23 suites in the Deluxe and Suite categories add private step-out balconies. Most staterooms accommodate two guests, though lower deck cabins with triple occupancy are also available, and standard amenities include a marble top washbasin, a sitting area with TV and DVD or CD player, a minibar, and individually controlled air conditioning.
Dining emphasises quality ingredients and regional character. With just over 100 guests and single-seating dining, cuisine stays consistently strong, with chefs sourcing local produce or buying the day's catch directly from fishing boats where possible. Pre-dinner canapés and afternoon tea are served daily in the lounge or on the Lido Deck, and guests can choose between joining a table of 4 to 6 on the Lido Deck or dining à la carte, with lunch and dinner served as five-course meals, wine included.
Public spaces include a large lounge with piano, a stylish bar, a sun deck, an enclosed panoramic viewing deck, a library, and a small gym, alongside complimentary wine at lunch and dinner, a professional guest speaker program, and in-depth shore excursions included in the fare.
Hebridean Sky suits couples, small groups, and experienced travellers after the combination of comfort and adventure that comes with a genuine expedition vessel focused on remote and less visited shores.
