The Isabela II is a small expedition yacht built in 1979 and operated by Metropolitan Touring. Originally launched as a supply vessel, she was refitted by Metropolitan Touring in 1988, and now carries 42 passengers with modern luxury amenities throughout, a transformation that reshaped her entirely for the demands of expedition travel.
Key features include an outdoor lounge and spacious observation deck, a top deck whirlpool, a fully equipped fitness room, a glass-bottomed boat, kayaks, Zodiacs, satellite connectivity, and full air conditioning. She was most recently refurbished in September 2020.
Accommodation aboard is designed for genuine comfort on a small ship. All staterooms are outside, air conditioned, and fitted with private bathrooms and safes, offered across one Master Suite, 16 Classic Staterooms, and three Standard Rooms, with all cabins accommodating two guests.
Dining leans into Ecuadorian flavour throughout the voyage. Daily American breakfast and a nightly three course dinner are served, with international cuisine featuring traditional Ecuadorian dishes and complimentary regional wines, alongside tea, coffee, and bottled water included in the fare.
The yacht offers an expedition style cruising experience focused on wildlife encounters and exploration, backed by an exercise room, Jacuzzi, outdoor lounge, and a top deck observation platform ideal for whale and dolphin watching. The bar and lounge feel elegantly appointed throughout, and the reading room stays well stocked for quieter moments spent between excursions.
Isabela II carries an elegant overall design and a dedicated team of expert naturalists and friendly crew who share a deep commitment to nature exploration and conservation.
The Isabela II suits small group travellers and nature enthusiasts after intimate expedition cruising with genuinely high-end service.
