About Hoorn
Hoorn is a picturesque city in the North Holland province, located 35 kilometers north of Amsterdam directly on the shores of the Markermeer. Serving as the largest town and traditional capital of the West Friesland region, it welcomes river cruise ships as a regular fixture along scenic Dutch waterway itineraries. Granted city rights in 1357, Hoorn flourished immensely during the Dutch Golden Age, evolving into a wealthy port city and housing one of the six prestigious chambers of the Dutch East India Company.
