Aqaba Cruise Port

Aqaba is Jordan's only coastal city and its principal seaport, located at the northeastern tip of the Red Sea where Asia meets Africa. Most cruise ships visit Aqaba as a port of call, giving passengers the opportunity to explore both the city and some of Jordan's most famous landmarks. The modern Aqaba Cruise Terminal, which opened in 2023, is the main cruise facility, with shuttle buses typically connecting the port to the city centre in around 15 minutes.

Aqaba has been an important trading port for thousands of years thanks to its strategic location. Today, the city combines its long history with a relaxed waterfront atmosphere. Among its best known landmarks is Aqaba Castle, a historic fort associated with the Crusader period and later rebuilt during the Mamluk era. Petra, the ancient city carved into rose coloured sandstone cliffs, is reached through the narrow Siq before opening onto its remarkable monuments.
